The Center for Career Development was established in January 2018 to serve Notre Dame students in all stages of the career development process through the use of a world-class facility in Duncan Student Center. More than 35 staff work in five offices located in the center:
- Graduate Career Services
- Mendoza Graduate Business Career Services
- Undergraduate Career Services
- Employer Engagement
- Operations and Event Services
The Center was created to enable students to focus early and often on discernment and career development, while better connecting students with our global network of alumni and the world’s top employers. The Center also both honors and facilitates our enduring commitment to the common good, to serve a world in need. Comprised of more than 25,000 square feet stretching 100 yards, the Center for Career Development is one of the largest centralized career center facilities in the nation.
The Center for Career Development in Duncan Student Center features 36 interview rooms plus 11 additional conference rooms that can be used by recruiters for interviews. The 36 rooms represent an 89% increase in the number of rooms dedicated to interviews. The 36 interview rooms (seating for 3-4 in each room) in Duncan provide a total of 4,121 square feet (a 136% increase in square footage from the former Career Center in Flanner Hall). The increase in space will provide more opportunities for the Center’s Employer Engagement team to invite new recruiters and organizations to campus to meet our students.
Virtual Interview Rooms and Support
Many recruiters utilize virtual interviews (Zoom, Skype, etc.) as an alternative to traveling to campuses. The Center will provide Notre Dame students with a professional setting to conduct virtual interviews and position them for success. The Center for Career Development features eight, custom-built interview rooms with specially designed furniture to position students for success.
